Automating CNC Applications

Benefits of IP (Ingress Protection) Rated Grippers
DESTACO products also excel in machining applications within harsh environments, in-part to Robohand grippers with high IP ratings. IP is important, because chips, burs, and debris from the operation may damage grippers without this rating. Even if a non-IP rated gripper isn’t directly handling a part, it can still become damaged, for example – if blown-off debris from adjacent tooling enters the gripper.
Even if your tooling won’t encounter debris, cutting fluids, and/or coolant – it’s important to consider using equipment that meets some of these application challenges:
- Dull - the operator loads the raw blank and then removes the finished part.
- Dirty - debris and coolant in the machine.
- Dangerous – there may be sharp chips or burrs on the part. A gripper pair on a robot is a great solution. One gripper for taking out the finished part and one for inserting the raw material. This also saves time.
